EN ISO 11611
EN ISO 11611 describes the minimum requirement for workwear that protects the wearer from brief welding or similar processes with corresponding risks.
The EN ISO 11611 certified safety clothing must protect the wearer from sparks, brief contact with fire and minimise the risk of electric shock from brief, accidental contact with electrical conductors. The workwear must cover the whole body in order to obtain optimal protection. This is achieved by using both jacket and corresponding trousers. When using welding techniques that produce a lot of sparks, we recommend using additional protection for head, hands and the front of the clothes. To avoid sparks burnt onto workwear, the safety apparel certified in accordance with EN ISO 11611 only has a minimum amount of pockets and other features so sparks don’t get stuck.

Protection against less hazardous welding techniques and situations that produce fewer sparks and heat radiation. | Protection for situations that pose additional risk, where the chance of sparks and heat radiation is significantly higher. |
MASCOT recommends that you check your safety apparel regularly to maintain optimal protection. Dirty or damp workwear can affect the safety level. The electric insulation effect can be affected if there is sweat or dirt on the product. Wearing correct, well-functioning workwear that is certified according to a standard such as EN ISO 11611 is important for your safety. If your protective clothing is exposed to fire or other exposure, it is recommended that you check it carefully and if necessary replace the item. In this way you prioritise your safety.
